John Henry Vinson, 77, retired night watchman for the Paducah Lumber Co., died at 6 p.m. Tuesday at his home, 300 Harrison St.
Mr. Vinson was born in Caldwell County and had been a Paducah resident for 65 years. He also had worked for the Home Ice Co. He was a member of Assembly of God Church, 28th and Tennessee Sts.
Surviviors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Frances Vinson; seven sons, Charles Vinson of Paris, and Joseph, Thomas, Johnny, Eugene, Wayne Edward and James Kelley Vinson, all of Paducah; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Garrett of Cairo, Ill., and Mrs. Annie Hendricks of Mounds, Ill; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lindsey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. L. H. Porter officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Henry Hellin, Jerry Doom, J. B. Wheatley, Paul Lee, J. W. Crittendon and Clarence Minton.
