Mrs. Langford Dies Suddenly In Greenville

Mrs. Ocey C. Langford, age 58, former Vicksburg resident, died suddenly at her home in Greenville. She was the widow of S. D. Langford of Greenville.

She is survived by 3 sons; Richard D. Langford of Friendsville, Tenn., B. Wayne Langford of Jackson, Thomas L. Langford of Vicksburg, seven grandchildren, a brother O. H. Champion of Pascagoula and a brother Jimmy Bertschler of Greenville; one half-sister Mrs. Ike Stewart of Isola, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted at Wells Funeral Home in Greenville at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Her married name was Langford. She lived in January 1963 at Greenville, Mississippi.2

BRANDON---Bessie B. Stewart died Tuesday, July 3, 1999 at Cross Gates Manor Nursing Home in Brandon. She was 95.

A homemaker, Mrs. Stewart was born in Humphreys County and lived in Isola most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike H. Stewart.

She is survived by six daughters, Esther Rivers of Niceville, Fla., Mable Hitchcock of Port Gibson, Mamie Walton of Vidor, Texas, Eloise "Wexie" Dupuy of Inverness, Patricia Stewart of Albuquerque, N.M. and Donnie Stewart of Rio Ranch, N.M; two sons, Zane C. Stewart of Vicksburg and Aubrey Stewart of Belzoni; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mortimer Chapel in Belzoni. Burial will follow at Caile Cemetery in Isola.

Memorials may be made to Caile United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 97, Isola, MS 38254. Her married name was Stewart. She lived in May 1977 at Indianapolis, Hendricks County, Indiana.2

BOYCE McDOUGAL deputy sheriff, dies

Boyce Owen McDougal, McCracken County deputy sheriff and a retired captain of Paducah Police Department, died Thursday at 11:10 p.m. at Western Baptist Hospital at the age of 55.

Mr. McDougal was a native of Stewart County, Tenn., but lived most of his life in Paducah. He served as police captain for 21 years before retiring.

A veteran of World War II, he was a 2nd Lieutenant in the U. S. Army. He was a member of Kentucky Sheriff's Association and Fraternal Order of Police, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a memeber of Twelfth Street Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was a member of the adult choir for 20 years.

Mr. McDougal was a Paducah Tilghman High School graduate and attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich., for two years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Norma McDougal; a son, Owen McDougal, Paducah; two stepsons, Richard Litchenberg, Ledbetter, Donald Litchenberg, Paducah; two step-daughters, Mrs. Margaret Waldrop, Champaign, Ill., Mrs. Howard Newcomb, Louisville; tow brothers, Leland McDougal, Paducah, Clifford McDougal, Ferndale, Mich; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Thompson, Ferndale, Mrs. Evelyn Hurt, Paducah, Mrs. Thelma Teuteberg, St. Louis, Mo; and a grandson, Michael McDougal of Paducah.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Fendley-Barker and Harris Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Sid Maddox officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Saturday. He was retired; Captain of Paducah Police Department.3 He was Deputy Sheriff at McCracken County, Kentucky.3
