     Arthur A. Nabors Sr. was born circa 1780 at Laurens County, South Carolina. He was the son of Jacob Nabors and Unknown Judith. Arthur A. Nabors Sr. married Unknown Sarah before 1804. Arthur A. Nabors Sr. died in November 1838 at Winston County, Mississippi.

Peters of Montevallo reports that during the persecution in France, three brothers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob Nabors came from France and settled in Lawrence District, South Carolina. The Nabors family in Shelby County (James, Abram, and Lewis) all came from Abraham Nabors; Game Nabors came from the Isaac Branch, the Jefferson County branch came from the Jacob Branch. Arthur, called Artur, was born in the Greenville District of South Carolina or Lauren County. He was a private in Alston's 3rd regiment, South Carolina Militia during the was of 1812, and served with Bual Blassingame Nabors. (Some think Bual and Artur to be brothers while others think they were cousins) Artur and Sally pruchased 79.48 acresin NW quarter of S9, TS21 and R3W at the Ruskaloosa Land Office on 22 April 1824. They executed a deed selling the same land to david meredith on 11 February 1828. Artur has been reported to have migrated to Winston County, Mississippi where he died in 1838. The 1820 census list one (1) white male over 21, three (3) whilte males under 21, one (1) whilte female over 21 and four (4) white females under 21. The 1830 Shelby County Census lis 2 WM under 5, 1WM 5-10, 2 WM 10-15, 1 WM 40-50, 2 WF under 5, 1 WF 10-15, 2 WF 15-20, 1Wf 30-40. Arthur A. Nabors Sr. was also known as Artur.
